Once the elegant island home of the Baroni Monti della Corte family, Capri's Villa Le Scale is now an exclusive retreat for an especially elite clientele.

Set in two hectares of lush Mediterranean gardens, the villa is located next to Axel Munthe's museum-house, in the town of Anacapri: the highest part of the island and where, for centuries, artists, aristocrats and intellectuals have come, in search of inspiration, privacy and pleasure.

Today's owner, an eminent Italian antiquarian with a passion for interior design, personally supervised the restoration of the 19th century residence and selected the artworks which now adorn both the villa's bedrooms and public areas.
